چکیده

Aim: Arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea L) is an underutilized tuber crop belonging to the family marantaceae. This study mainly aims evaluate different arrowroot accessions for quality starch and best yield.
Study of Design: The field experiment was conducted in randomized block design with total ten three replications.
Place Duration Research: present investigation undertaken at College Orchard, Department Vegetable Science, Horticultural & Research Institute, TNAU, Coimbatore during year 2022-2023.
Methodology: In this study, viz.,TAr18-01, TAr18-02,TAr18-04,TAr18-05,TAr18-10, TAr18-11, TAr18-12, TAr18-13, TAr18-14 Local were evaluated their growth, yield parameters.
Results: statistical results revealed that all significantly differ from each other. Results obtained as maximum height accession TAr18-14(132.01cm), number leaves TAr18-10 (109.33), tillers (8.45) biggest rhizome weight TAr18-14(198.81g) respectively. traits like length (25.49 cm), diameter (9.46cm) per plant (30.00), (1.49kg) TAr18-10. parameters viz., dry matter (%) highest TAr18-10(56.76%),TSS TAr18-12 (27.83%), ash contents (3.88%). These decide nutritive value Arrowroot. There a significant variation starch, TSS, matter, protein, crude fiber. Among various TAr18-04 recorded (54.62%) TAr18-14recorded protein content (6.194%). Amylose (21.88%) TAr18-01.
Conclusion: It can be concluded following yield, selected further evaluation exploitation industrial applications.

In Vitro Propagation of Arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea L.)

Arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea L.; Marantaceae) is an excellent source of starch (>85%) used in the food industry. The multiplication of this plant is traditionally from rhizomes, which are also a source of starch. In vitro M. arundinacea shoot cultures were successfully established from rhizome buds on semi-solid MS medium supplemented with 3 mg.l 6-benzylaminopurine in the dark, which was als...

Gourd and squash artifacts yield starch grains of feasting foods from preceramic Peru.

In a study of residues from gourd and squash artifacts, we recovered starch grains from manioc (Manihot esculenta), potato (Solanum sp.), chili pepper (Capsicum spp.), arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea), and algarrobo (Prosopis sp.) from feasting contexts at the Buena Vista site, a central Peruvian preceramic site dating to approximately 2200 calendar years B.C. This study has implications for the...
